Tribute from your brother and friend, Joseph Osei Oppong Brenya. Director of Communication at the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme-NEIP
Commander! This is a title you got due to your hard work when you became the Upper East Regional youth organizer of the NPP.
But I knew you before that, we were friends and were like brothers. We meet when you were the monitoring and evaluation officer for School Feeding Programme before we lost the 2008 elections.
I was then a journalist working with Joy Fm (Multi-Media Group) as Upper East Regional Reporter. I remember how generous you were to me and my ex-girlfriend, (Agyeikumwaa)who was a nurse.
Do you remember how former Upper East Regional Minister, Mark Woyongo use to call you? Latif!
We did everything together, we moved around and campaigned together till I left the region. Anytime I came back to Bolga, you were one of the people I will call for us to meet.
I still remember how you used to ask of Agyeikumwaa anytime I meet you.
You fought the name calling, the rumours and the lies about you and became who you wanted to be. You overcame the negativity just like I did, you are a great motivation to me.
Before 2020 elections I was in Bolga for the NEIP training programme for entrepreneurs in the region and we linked up. I will not forget the zeal and passion in your attempt to help the party youths in the Upper East Region.
You organized all of them and gave me a list of the youths we need to support with funding for them to either start or invest in their existing business
You will ask of Amy, my PA and say Osei where is Amy, give me her number to call her.
Unfortunately we couldn’t disburse funds to enable these people to benefit, I still have the list in the brown envelop. Commander, soon the funds will be available for disbursement, how do we go about it?
You are a selfless and hardworking patriot. I remember the work we did in 2008 and 2012 to win power but unfortunately, we did not.
You will shout, “Eii Osei woy3 yeii Kai me ooo” anytime you see me. My heart is full of momeries of you like a family.
I remember when we lost power and the NDC were chasing you to take your official Toyota land cruiser vehicle from you.
I remember every moment I had with you, I remember when we met in Ho in 2019 for the NPP conference.
Demirifa due! Due Ne Amanihunu!!
A true patriot is going home, fare there well compatriot, till we meet again.
Rest well Latif Solomon!
Rest a patriot!!
Rest compatriot!!
