You are not president if current voters’ register isn’t credible-Ayariga tells Nana 2 minutes ago by Ebenezer Quist – Hassan Ayariga, the leader of the All People’s Congress says

Akufo-Addo cannot claim to be president if he feels the current voters’ register has any problem – According to Ayariga, the president only wants to change to register because he fears losing the 2020 elections – 6 opposition parties have formed the Inter-Party Resistance Against the New Voters’ Register to kick against the move to make a new register.

The founder and leader of the All People’s Congress (APC), Hassan Ayariga says President Akufo-Addo cannot hold himself out as President of Ghana if the EC claims that the voters’ register is not credible. Speaking on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5 FM, the APC flagbearer asserted that the reason Nana Addo wants to change the current register is that fear has gripped him that he might lose if it is maintained. It would be recalled that just recently, the vice-president Bawumia revealed that the Ghana Card would soon erase all arguments about the use of voters’ register for elections in the country.

According to Bawumia, the card would automatically replace the voters’ ID since the Electoral Commission (EC) would extract details of all those who have turned eighteen and above. “You’re aware that the voter register is credible because they’ve used it number of time to make elections and in those elections your party has lost, you think that you gonna lose the 2020 elections so you’re advocating for a new voter register, which you termed not credible. “If the voter register is not credible then definitely you’re not the President of Ghana,” said Ayariga Reports indicate that a coalition of six opposition political parties says they are against the plan by the Electoral Commission to compile a new voters’ register for the 2020 general elections.

The parties are the All People’s Congress (APC), National Democratic Congress (NDC), Egle Party, United Progressive Party (UPP), United Front Party (UFP), and People’s National Convention (PNC). Together, the group calls itself the Inter-Party Resistance Against the New Voters’ Register. In other news, Prof Adei disclosed that the only way a country can develop is when leaders have a long-term strategy in place to govern the people. Speaking on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show, he said, there are people who may be ideologically opposed to planning, there are some who are ideologically supportive of it but the reality is that no country can develop with a four-year manifesto.
