Shatta Wale & Samini happily react to the legalization of marijuana for industrial and medicinal usage

Ghanaian reggae-dancehall artiste Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr known by the stage name Shatta Wale has joyously reacted after Ghana’s parliament passed the Bill on legalization of Marijuana.
This Bill is to allow for the use of the herb of industrial and medicinal purposes only.

Shatta Wale and a few musicians including Samini have been championing the idea of legalization of the drug for some time now.
According to people who hold this view, they believe when marijuana is legalized in Ghana it will help the country make a lot of money.

The understanding of the Bill does not give liberty to anyone to smoke, sniff or drink the drug.
However, Shatta Wale and Samini took to Twitter to express profound gratitude to the government for taking such a step:
Shatta Wale wrote:
Omg am so happy this government is about to legalize cannabis for medicinal use ..Good one there Mr president

Dancehall artiste Samini also tweeted:
Now the police can concentrate on other #realcrimes and leave the Rastaman in peace … the random and embarrassing search of any and every Rasta man because it’s presumed that he’s a smoker and for that matter a criminal is finally a thing of the past ? Wooow. I have stories
