PARTIAL LOCKDOWN : Government distributes 100,000 packs of food to the poor and vulnerable.

The government of Ghana through the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection on Saturday April 4 started the distribution of free food and soft drinks as part of the government’s efforts to support the poor and vulnerable in society during the two weeks partial lockdown period.
According to the ministry,this move is to ensure that the poor and society’s vulnerable are able to meet their daily food consumption and as well as addressing their nutritional needs.
The Distribution team which was at Sabonzongo in the Ablekuma Central Municipalities, (Ngwan-makafi area ) in the Greater Accra Region is expected to do similar distribution in all the less endowed suburbs and communities in the metropolis.
The distribution team from the ministry of children, gender and social protection was led by the Director for Social Protection Directorate, Dr. Rita Owusu-Amankwah.
