Ghana Education Service has released the academic calendar for SHSs and primary schools for 2023.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the academic schedule for all government institutions for 2023.

The calendar is intended for Senior High, Senior High Technical Schools, Junior High Schools, Primary Schools, and Kindergarten students.

The GES urged all regional directors in the country to ensure that heads of schools for Basic and Second Cycle Schools in their respective regions comply in a statement issued on February 8, 2023.

“By this letter, Regional Directors are ordered to ensure that Heads of Schools for Basic and Second Cycle Schools in their respective areas take note of the requirements in the accompanying calendar and comply appropriately to allow the smooth functioning of the academic year,” GES stated in a statement.

The GES stated that double-track pupils in form 3 [three] who started school on January 10, 2023 will be on holiday from April 6 -16, 2023, and would return on April 17, 2023.

The pupils will subsequently have another holiday from June 2 to 8, 2023. They will return to school on June 9 and will remain there until September 15, 2023, when the academic year for the first term will complete.

JHS 3 students will be on vacation from March 25 to April 2, 2023, according to GES. They will return for a second term on April 3, 2023. They will subsequently have another vacation from June 16 to June 26, 2023. They will return to school for the third time on June 27, 2023.

The 2023 Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) will begin in September 2023, according to GES.
