COVID-19:GHANA MAY SOON FIND A SOLUTION TO CORONA VIRUS

The COVID-19 pandemic is causing untold human suffering and economic devastation around the world of which Ghana is not an exemption.
Countries around the world are stepping up efforts to tackle the new coronavirus that has killed tens of thousands.
The University of Ghana Legon
College of Health and Sciences,School of Biomedical and Allied Sciences are doing their best to help fight this pandemic
Currently, they are undergoing Microbial Experiment in the Laboratory.
More than 140 experimental drug treatments and vaccines for the coronavirus are in development world-wide, most in early stages, including 11 already in clinical trials, according to Informa Pharma Intelligence.
Counting drugs approved for other diseases, there are 254 clinical trials testing treatments or vaccines for the virus, many spearheaded by universities and government research agencies, with hundreds more trials planned. Researchers have squeezed timelines that usually total months into weeks or even days.
Ghana has recorded 214 of corona virus cases with 5 deaths.
Regional breakdown
Six regions have so far recorded confirmed cases of COVID-19.
With the latest update, Greater Accra still leads as the region with the most number of confirmed cases, followed by the Ashanti, Northern, Upper West, Upper East and Eastern Region.
