Coronavirus has infected 21 people in Ghana and has claimed the life of one of the infected A video which is fast going viral has showed a driver refusing to hand over his driver’s license to a police officer for regular check. The video which was taken in the Ashanti region of Ghana showed the driver calmly seated in his car as he was stopped by an MTTU police officer. It appeared the law enforcement agent was requesting to see and inspect the driver’s license of the driver but the driver was not willing to cooperate.
The driver’s unwillingness stemmed from the fact that the police officer did not want to sanitise her hands before taking the license and the driver was not ready to compromise on his health. The policewoman who was also not having none of what the driver was saying, insisted on inspecting the license of the driver. In the viral video that was taken by a passenger in the car, the driver’s face was not shown but the MTTU officer had her face appearing. At a point, the driver even insisted that he was just returning from the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital to as it were, make the policewoman aware of the fact that infection was likely.
This still did not move the MTTU officer as she still insisted on getting to inspect the license of the driver. It appeared the driver is a worker of the hospital or some form of health professional as he insisted that he was a “staff” and pointed to a paraphernalia hanging in his car. earlier reported that President Akufo-Addo was pleading on Ghanaians to take precautionary measures so as to prevent being infected with the deadly coronavirus. In an address on the night of March 21, 2020, Akufo-Addo also called on all religious Ghanaians to join him to fast and pray on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 to seek the face of God.
President Nana Akufo-Addo also directed that all of Ghana’s borders be closed for two weeks as the nation figures out ways and means to stop the spread of the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19). The closure of the borders started from 12:00am on Sunday, March 22, 2020. Calls for Ghana’s borders to be closed started long ago and many associations and individuals alike petitioned the government to close the country’s borders since many of the cases recorded were deemed to have been imported.
. This brings the total to 21 with one death – meaning the existing cases in the country is now is 20. The latest two cases were confirmed via the official handle of the Disease and Surveillance Department of the Ghana Health Service. Only God can save Ghana from the Coronavirus outbreak.
